Project Jetstream
Privacy Policy
Beta Version · Effective: [Date] · Last Updated: [Date]
Project Jetstream is a platform for logging flights, rating and reviewing airlines, and engaging with a community of fellow aviation enthusiasts. We're committed to handling your data with care and transparency, wherever you are in the world.
This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. We've written it to be clear and direct. Questions? Reach out at privacy@projectjetstream.com.
Project Jetstream is currently in beta. Features and data practices may evolve. We'll update this policy accordingly and give you advance notice of any material changes.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account credentials required to create and access your account, including your email address and password
- Flight logs (airline, route, aircraft type, cabin class, dates)
- Ratings, reviews, and other user-generated content about flights and airlines
- Preferences and settings you configure within the app (e.g., home airport)
- Optional profile information and photos you choose to upload
Information Generated Through Your Use
- App usage and engagement data
- Activity related to platform features such as rankings, badges, and streaks
- Behavioral signals used to personalize your experience
Information From Third-Party Sources
Some information comes from third-party sources rather than directly from you, in two ways.
Authorized integrations (opt-in). With your permission, Project Jetstream can connect to third-party services such as calendar providers to automatically detect and log flight itineraries. You can disconnect at any time from your settings.
- Access is limited to flight-related data relevant to the integration's purpose
- Calendar data may also be used to confirm that logged flights correspond to real travel, helping ensure the accuracy of your personal stats and the reliability of community-wide insights
- We do not store unrelated data from authorized third-party services
Flight database (platform-level). Project Jetstream references a licensed database of publicly available flight information — such as routes, schedules, aircraft types, and airline data — to help you log flights accurately. This operates at the platform level and requires no action from you.
- Your flight log entries may be cross-referenced against this database to populate accurate details
- The database provider does not receive your personal information
What We Don't Collect
We do not collect real-time location data, request background GPS access, or track your physical whereabouts. Any location-related preferences you enter (such as a home airport) are treated as profile settings, not location tracking.
2. How We Use Your Information
To Provide and Operate the Platform
- Maintain your flight log, profile, and personal flying statistics
- Power platform features including rankings, gamification, and community tools
- Deliver personalized flight insights, recommendations, and content
- Auto-populate flight logs via third-party integrations, where enabled
To Improve Our Services
- Develop and refine recommendation systems and ranking algorithms
- Analyze usage patterns to improve features and user experience
- Validate data quality and accuracy across the platform
Aggregated and Anonymized Analytics
We may combine and de-identify user data to generate insights about flight trends, airline performance, and community sentiment. This aggregated data may be used in Project Jetstream's own products or shared with industry partners. Individual users are never identifiable in these outputs.
Advertising and Partner Offers
In-app advertising and offers. Project Jetstream may display in-app ads generated by third-party advertising services and may surface in-app curated partner product and service offers based on your activity and preferences. In both cases, we will only share anonymized, aggregated, non-personal contextual signals. We will not share your name, email address, personal flight history, or other identifying information with third-party advertising services or product partners.
3. User-Generated Content and Media
Content you upload — such as photos or written reviews of flights and airlines — is private by default and visible only to you unless you choose to share it.
We may introduce social or community features in the future that allow optional public sharing. Any such change will require your explicit consent before your content becomes visible to others.
User-generated media may be analyzed in anonymized, aggregated form to identify patterns or trends relevant to flight experience, platform improvement, or industry insights. Individual content is never shared in an identifiable way without your permission.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information in the following circumstances:
- With service providers who assist in operating our platform (e.g., hosting, analytics, communications)
- With our licensed third-party flight database provider, to cross-reference and accurately populate flight details — no personally identifying information is shared in this process
- With advertising services, using only anonymized, aggregated, non-personal contextual signals such as general app usage patterns — never your name, email address, flight history, or other identifying information
- As anonymized, aggregated insights with industry partners
- When required by law or valid legal process, or where necessary to prevent imminent harm to a user or third party
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity and will remain subject to a privacy policy at least as protective as this one.
5. Your Rights and Controls
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Restrict or object to certain types of processing
- Receive a portable copy of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
We honor these rights for all users regardless of where you are located. To exercise any of them, contact us at privacy@projectjetstream.com. We will respond within 30 days, or within the timeframe required by applicable law.
6. International Users
Project Jetstream is based in and operated from the United States. If you access Project Jetstream from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed there. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other lawful mechanisms for transfers of personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland. You may request details of the applicable safeguards at privacy@projectjetstream.com.
Legal Basis for Processing (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
Where required, we process your personal data on the following bases: contract (to provide our services); legitimate interests (platform improvement, security, and fraud prevention); consent (for optional features such as calendar integrations and marketing communications, which you may withdraw at any time); and legal obligation.
Your Regional Rights
Users in the EEA and UK have rights under GDPR and UK GDPR including access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to object to certain processing. California residents have equivalent rights under CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information — we do not sell personal data. All users may exercise these rights by contacting privacy@projectjetstream.com. EEA and UK users may also lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we remove personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required for legal, safety, or compliance purposes. Anonymized and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.
Where applicable law requires specific retention or deletion timeframes, we comply with those requirements.
If Project Jetstream suspends or terminates your account for violation of our terms, the same data removal process applies. We will notify you of any such action and the reason for it.
8. Security
We apply industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect your information. No system can guarantee absolute security. In the event of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities promptly and in accordance with applicable law.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for any activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at privacy@projectjetstream.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
9. Children's Privacy
Project Jetstream is not directed to children. The minimum age to use Project Jetstream is 13, or a higher age if required by the laws of your country (for example, 16 in certain EEA member states). We do not knowingly collect data from users below the applicable minimum age. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will promptly remove it.
10. Payments
Project Jetstream does not currently offer paid features. If and when we do, payments will be processed by trusted third-party providers (such as the App Store, Google Play, or Stripe). We will not store full payment card details on our own systems.
11. Updates to This Policy
We will update this policy as our product and practices evolve. For material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Where required by law, we will seek your renewed consent. Continued use of Project Jetstream after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

- Email: privacy@projectjetstream.com
- Address: [Company Address]
EEA and UK users may also contact their local data protection authority if they believe their rights have not been respected. We encourage you to reach out to us first so we can address your concern directly.
